My family loves a good American breakfast with eggs, some kind of meat, and toast on the side. And when the craving strikes, that’s the perfect time to whip up quick and delicious sausage in the air fryer!
The links are ready in 15 minutes flat and cooked to crispy-on-the-outside, juicy-on-the-inside perfection. Plus, while they cook, I have plenty of time to make the eggs and toast. What an easy way to start the day!

How to Make Air Fryer Sausage
A full printable version of this recipe with ingredient measurements is available at the bottom of this post.
STEP ONE: Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees F.
STEP TWO: Once preheated, carefully place the sausage links in rows in the air fryer basket, leaving room between each one for the air to circulate.
STEP THREE: Cook for 7-9 minutes or until done to your desired level of crispiness and the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F.
How Long Do I Cook Sausage in the Air Fryer?
Every air fryer model is going to vary a little bit. I found that 8 minutes was the sweet spot for my perfect links, but you may want to add a minute or so depending on how crispy you like the outside of your sausage.
If you buy breakfast sausage links from brands like Bob Evans or Johnsonville, they will be thinner than other kinds of sausages, which is why the cooking time is shorter. Cooking sausages like Italian Sausage in the Air Fryer will have a longer cooking time.
You just want to make sure that the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F and that the sausages are not pink on the inside.

Can I Use Turkey Sausage Links Instead?
You bet! Just be aware that you want the internal temperature to reach 165 degrees F, just slightly higher than traditional pork breakfast sausage.
For that reason, you may want to add a minute or so to the cooking time.
How to Cook Frozen Sausage Links in the Air Fryer
- Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees F.
- Once preheated, carefully place the frozen sausage links in rows in the air fryer basket, leaving room between each one for the air to circulate.
- Cook for 5 to 6 minutes or until done to your desired level of browning on the outside and the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F.
NOTE: These are directly for precooked frozen sausage links. Frozen raw sausage links will take longer to cook.
How to Reheat Breakfast Sausage Links in the Air Fryer
- Preheat the air fryer to 320 degrees F.
- Lay the leftover sausage links in the air fryer, leaving room between each one.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until heated through.
Can I Cook Multiple Foods in the Air Fryer at Once?
Yes, you can! You just have to plan out the timing.
If you’re cooking two foods that require different cooking times and temperatures, start with the food that will take longer. Once the timer has reached the amount of time you need for the second food, add it to the air fryer. If necessary, drop the temperature to the lower of the two foods.
So let’s say Food A cooks for 15 minutes at 400 degrees F, and Food B cooks for 5 minutes at 350 degrees F. In this scenario, you’ll start with Food A at 400 degrees. Once Food A cooks for 10 minutes (meaning it only has 5 minutes left) add Food B and drop the temperature to 350 degrees F.
