Tips for the Best Chocolate Dip for Fruit
- I’m using light cream cheese to make this chocolate dip recipe on the lighter side. You can use full-fat if desired.
- If you don’t have any chocolate chips on hand, you can use candy wafers or chocolate squares instead. As long as it melts, it will work!
- Store the chocolate fruit dip in an airtight container in the fridge, and it will keep for up to 3 days.
- Get creative with your dipping vessels and serve your chocolate dip for fruit with an assortment of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, apples, pretzels, and graham crackers. You could even drizzle a bit over some popcorn!
What Fruits Can Be Dipped in Chocolate?
The world is your oyster! Kidding, but only a little. So many different varieties of fruit taste great dipped in chocolate. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Berries
- Pineapple
- Mango
- Oranges
- Grapes
- Bananas
- Peaches
…the possibilities are truly endless with chocolate dip for fruit!
Variations for This Chocolate Dip Recipe
- Use a different variety of chocolate: You could also make this chocolate dip recipe with white, dark, or ruby chocolate.
- Add some nuts for a more interesting texture and flavor: I like the idea of using crushed almonds, pecans, walnuts, or pistachios.
- Opt to make this with Greek yogurt instead of cream cheese: The combination of chocolate with cream cheese makes this dip taste a bit like chocolate cheesecake! You can get a similar flavor from yogurt, but with a thinner consistency.
- Add some more flavor by including a dash of cinnamon or vanilla extract.
Can You Make Chocolate Dip Without Heavy Cream?
You sure can, and this chocolate fruit dip is proof! I’m using a combination of cream cheese and marshmallow fluff to give this dip a more interesting texture and flavor as compared to some other chocolate dip recipe ideas.
Chocolate sauces made with heavy cream are more suitable for glazes since they contain more liquid.
