With frozen, you won’t have to go use any oil either! You can read more about oil in the air fryer here.
Tips to Convert Oven to Air Fryer
Here are some general tips to convert oven to air fryer temps and times:
- Preheat your air fryer for maximum crispiness and even cooking.
- Add oil when needed for certain raw foods.
- Avoid stacking food when you can. Use only a single layer of food to get crispy results.

Does an Air Fryer Cook Quicker Than an Oven?
Yes, an air fryer cooks quicker than a conventional oven. You’ve probably noticed that there is a fan inside your air fryer.
This promotes even cooking, allows air to circulate the food, and helps the heat to transfer much faster than a traditional oven. An air fryer can shorten cook time AND make your food crispier!
How Can You Convert Baking Time to an Air Fryer?
To convert baking time to an air fryer, reduce the temperature by 25 degrees F and reduce the cooking time by 20%.
These are general rules, so you’ll want to keep an eye on your food (at least the first time you try out a new recipe) to make sure that it’s cooking correctly.
How Do I Convert Deep Frying to Air Fry?
For deep fryer to air fryer conversion, the same rules apply. Similar to a recipe that calls for a conventional oven, lower your air fryer’s temperature by 25 degrees F.
If a recipe calls for deep-fried chicken wings to be cooked at 350 degrees F, set your air fryer to 325 degrees F.

I have your conversion chart but can you tell me what the difference is between the first list vs. the second list? Are they both for using an air fryer or is one for using a regular oven? Confusing to me.
Hi Susan, Both pages are the same chart, but the first page gives temperatures in Fahrenheit and the second page is in Celsius. I hope this helps!
