Tips For How to Cook Fish in the Air Fryer

  • Cook the fish in a single layer in the air fryer basket or air fryer tray with space between each fish fillet for the most even cooking
  • Use a silicone liner or parchment round to help the fish avoid sticking and for easy clean up
  • Cooking fish in the air fryer with the skin side down first works the best to get the skin crispy and to keep the fish from sticking
  • Fresh fish air fries best, but you can use frozen when in a pinch! — but if you have time, thawing fish will result in the best fish taste
  • Check for fish doneness by either flaking the fish with a fork or using an Instant-Read Thermometer until the fish hits 140 to 145 degrees F.
  • Fish can be reheated in the air fryer too! Read our tips on how to reheat it here.

How Long to Air Fry Fish

This depends on the type of fish you are air frying along with the size and thickness of the fish.

Thin delicate fish will cook faster while thicker fish will need a little extra cooking time.

Use the below recipes to find the kind of fish or seafood you have and enjoy cooking the fish in the air fryer!
