I found the best way to make air fryer fried pork chops so they still get super crispy without all the oil. My husband won’t eat pork chops any other way now!
My Easy Fried Air Fryer Pork Chop Recipe
I always come up with the most delicious recipes when we’re low on ingredients, and that holds true with my air fryer fried pork chops.
My husband was really craving that classic crispy pork chop you’d get at a diner. I wanted to air fry them, but we didn’t have any breading in the house like our typical pork chop recipe, so I decided to get creative.
I ended up coating them in a little flour and some seasonings and let me tell you I was impressed! They came out just as crispy as if they’d been fried in oil, but they weren’t!
He has since requested this recipe 15 times in the last few months. I have no problem making it though because I love it too!

STEP SEVEN: Place the pork chops into the air fryer in a single layer and spray the tops with cooking oil using an EVO sprayer.
STEP EIGHT: Air fry them for 8-10 minutes, carefully flipping halfway through cooking, until the internal temperature is 140-145 degrees F. If cooking thicker pork chops, cook them for 14-15 minutes.
STEP NINE: Allow the chops to rest for 5-10 minutes, then serve with your favorite sides.
Air Fryer Fried Pork Chops Tips
- Let the chops sit at room temperature for at least 10 minutes after you’ve dredged them through the flour. I’ve found this helps the flour stick to the pork chops, letting the outsides get crispier and crunchier.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. The air needs to be able to circulate around the pork chops to cook them evenly and crisp up all sides. If you need to, cook them in batches.
- Spritz them generously with oil or the flour will stay white and not crisp up like a fried pork chop would. I have used olive oil and vegetable oil when cooking them.
- Flip the pork chops halfway through so they cook evenly.
- Let the chops rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. This will allow the meat fibers to reabsorb their juices so your pork chops stay nice and tender.
- Store any leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container for 3 to 5 days. Reheat them in a preheated air fryer at 380 degrees for about 3 to 4 minutes.
Variations of Fried Pork Chops in the Air Fryer
- Swap out bone-in for boneless pork chops. I find they take a minute or two longer to cook, but still taste amazing with this recipe!
- Add cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the flour mixture for a spicy kick.
- Mix dried herbs like thyme or rosemary into the flour.
- Give them a cheesy, crispy crust by adding finely grated Parmesan cheese into the flour mix.
- Use gluten-free all-purpose flour for a gluten-free option.
Air Fryer Fried Pork Chops FAQs
What to Serve with Air Fry Pork Chops
For a normal weeknight dinner, I love to pair them with a simple air fryer vegetable side dish like asparagus, butternut squash, baby carrots, or green beans alongside some bread or salad.
If I have a little more time to cook, I will roast up some acorn squash or sweet potatoes, make some mashed potatoes, corn casserole or cheesy potatoes.
How Long to Cook Pork Chops in An Air Fryer
I find that regular bone-in pork chops take 8 to 10 minutes to cook at 400 degrees F in a preheated air fryer.
If I’m using a thicker pork chop, they’ve needed as long as 14 to 15 minutes to finish cooking. Use a meat thermometer so you can pull them out as soon as they read 145 degrees F at the thickest point.
