Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats Ingredients

  • Butter – salted or unsalted
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Peanut butter – your favorite brand will work!
  • Salt
  • Rice Krispies cereal
  • Chocolate chips – I use semi- sweet

How to Make Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats

STEP ONE: Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the marshmallows, stirring continuously until melted and smooth.

STEP TWO: Whisk the peanut butter and salt into the melted marshmallow mixture until well combined.

STEP THREE: Add the cereal to the pot, then carefully fold the ingredients together with a large wooden spoon or silicone spatula.

STEP FOUR: Prepare a 9×13-inch glass pan by generously coating it with either butter or a spritz of nonstick cooking spray.

STEP FIVE: Spread the peanut butter rice crispy treats mixture evenly into the pan. Press down gently on the mixture, but not too much or they’ll come out tough. You can spray your hands with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

STEP SIX: Melt the chocolate in the microwave, heating in 30 seconds bursts, stirring, and repeating until smooth. Transfer to a Ziploc bag and snip off a bottom corner, then drizzle over the peanut butter rice crispy treats.

STEP SEVEN: Place the pan in the refrigerator and allow the chocolate peanut butter rice Krispie treats to cool for 1 hour.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup salted butter
  • 2 ½ cups mini marshmallows
  • ¾ cup peanut butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups rice krispie cereal
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • In a large pot, melt the butter completely over medium heat. Once the butter is finished melting, add the marshmallows and mix continuously until all of the marshmallows have melted.
  • Whisk in the peanut butter and salt until the peanut butter is homogenous with the melted marshmallows.
  • Add the cereal to the pot and use a large wooden spoon or silicone spatula to fold the ingredients together until the cereal is evenly coated in the marshmallow mixture.
  • Coat a 9×13 inch glass pan in butter or nonstick cooking spray. Spread the cereal mixture into the pan evenly and set aside.
  • Melt the chocolate for about 1 minute, or until smooth. Transfer the chocolate to a Ziploc bag, cut off one of the corners, and drizzle the chocolate over the cereal mixture.
  • Place the rice krispie treats in the fridge to cool for 1 hour before slicing.
  • Serve and enjoy!
